Be Well! Stay Well!
Low impact exercises are important for maintaining flexibility and balance as we grow older. Classes in low-impact Tai Chi and our Matter of Balance training are available.
Tai Chi is a graceful form of exercise that involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. It improves balance, is inexpensive, can be done alone or in a group, and requires no special equipment. Because these exercises are low impact, they put less stress on muscles and joints and may be suitable for those who would otherwise not be able to exercise. Although Tai Chi is generally safe, please consult with your doctor before trying it if you have any health concerns.
Tai Chi Classes are led by certified instructors. A series of eight 1-hour sessions costs $16. Each session includes warm-up and cool-down exercises, six basic core movements and six advanced extension movements, and direction changes to add challenge.
