Knowledge is One of the Best Presents: AOK Seminars Happening in December

December is here and we have some Answers for Older Kansans (AOK) Zoom seminars you can attend while you stay warm inside. The AOK program provides presentations from experts on a variety of subjects that provide information and assistance to older Kansans and their caregivers. Upcoming seminars include:

  • Wednesday, December 14th at noon, Missing Loved Ones During the Holidays, A Caregiver Talk Show

  • Thursday, December 15th at 5:30 pm, Medicaid Matters: Qualifying for KanCare

This month’s Caregiver Talk Show focuses on how being a caregiver can be hard during the holidays. Your loved one may be unable to travel, and you may not have the ability to host relatives for visits. Missing loved ones during the holidays is normal for caregivers, and caregivers at the talk show will discuss their experiences and share advice on how to overcome holiday loneliness.

Our legal seminar this month focuses on qualifying for Medicaid in Kansas, known as KanCare. This seminar explores the requirements you have to meet to sign up for KanCare, the differences between Medicare and Medicaid, and how one person being on KanCare can affect their spouse.

To register for a seminar, visit www.ncfhaaa.com/seminars and fill out the registration form, or call 785-776-9294. Advanced registration is required, and registrations are accepted until 5:00 the day before the seminar.

All seminars are free to attend. If you would like to make a contribution to help cover costs and support this educational program, your donations are gladly welcomed.
